Natural Wonder

Step inside a creekside, glass-walled abode in Buckhead’s Tuxedo Park.

The story began with a longtime friend and a heavily wooded 2.5-acre lot in Buckhead’s Tuxedo Park — and with the vision Casey had shared for what the home could become.

The original 1971 house was taken down to its foundation, and Harrison Design’s Robert Tretsch drew a new residence on the same footprint, meandering gently toward the creek. Walls of glass, rooms cantilevered over the pool and uplighting in the trees turn the woods into the main event.

Inside, Casey paired the original stacked granite with stained cypress and polished walnut, and wove in a subtle, glamorous 1970s spirit — a Noguchi table, Mapplethorpe photography, shag textures and a gold-leaf bar — while keeping every surface soft, inviting and durable enough for three young children.

“In the summer, when you look out, all you see are these beautiful trees.”
